Hannah Martin Strikes Gold

f Buenos Aires, Argentina - Burnt Hills High School graduate, Hannah Martin (28) from the Jason Morris Judo Center swept through all opponents winning her matches by Ippon (full point) to take a gold medal at the Argentina Continental Open, March 11, 2017. Martin defeated Bombarda, Fiamma and Noella Ponce from Argentina to make the final where Hannah knocked off Karina Orellana (Chile) for the 63kg title which is her third overall medal in Argentina. She won a silver in both 2012 & 2013. This result bumps up Martin's world ranking 2 spots up to #38. Ari Berliner (18) also competed for the Jason Morris Judo Center and dropped his first 66kg bout to Minoru Tamashiro (Argentina) and was eliminated in his first major international event in the IJF tour. Martin also represents the New York Athletic Club (NYAC).
